This blog article helps you find the notification for JEE 2013 and also tells you how to download the form and the Eligibility required
CBSE has recently released the notification for JEE 2013 Exam – specifying the exam/form dates for both JEE (Main) 2013 as well as JEE (Advanced) 2013. The notification has also enlisted the eligibility for JEE 2013 and how to apply for JEE 2013 through Online Form. This blog article is being written so as to encapsulate the information contained in above notification.
For the late latifs among you, who is still confused about what is the new JEE (i.e. JEE 2013), please go through my introductory article titled: JEE 2013: Change in Exam Pattern/Process. The article tells you in a nutshell that new JEE 2013 is not the same as IIT-JEE 2013. Rather JEE 2013 has two parts - JEE (Main) 2013 has replaced AIEEE while JEE (Advanced) 2013 has replaced IIT-JEE 2013.
What change has been brought about by the marriage of the two national level exam AIEEE & IIT-JEE is simple JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) and the scheme of exam post JEE 2013 can be best illustrated pictorially below:
JEE 2013 Important Dates/ Schedule:
Date of Online form/registration for JEE (Main) 2013: 1st November 2012 onwards.
Date of JEE (Main) 2013 Offline Exam: 7th April 2013
Date of JEE (Main) 2013 Online Exam: 8th April to 30th April 2013.
Date of JEE (Advanced) 2013 Offline Exam: 7th April 2013
There will not be any online exam for JEE (Advanced) 2013. It will be held in offline mode (i.e. pen & paper) only.
Further, JEE (Main) 2013 may be conducted in regional languages of the state opting for JEE (Main) in addition to Hindi and English languages. However JEE (Advanced) 2013 will be conducted only in Hindi and English. You can find more about this in my blog post titled: JEE (Main) Exam pattern, Syllabus, Papers & Books.
JEE 2013 Eligibility:
1.0 Age eligibility:
DOB on or after October 01, 1988 are eligibile.
For SC, ST and PWD candidates there is 5 years relaxation (DOB on or after October 01, 1983 are also eligible).
2.0 Academic qualification eligibility:
You must have passed Class-XII exam in 2011 or 2012 or appearing in Class-XII in 2013. If you had passed Class-XII in 2010 or before or appearing in 2014, you will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2013.
List of Qualifying Exams considered equivalent to Class-XII exam is given below.
3.0 Number of attempts:
Maximum 3 attempts for JEE (Main)-2013. If you had attempted AIEEE in the previous years, that will be counted as an attempt in JEE-Main 2013 exam.
List of Qualifying Examinations for JEE 2013:
i) The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as CBSE, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
iii) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
iv) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
v) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
vi) A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
vii) 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
How to apply for JEE 2013: Online Form
You can apply for JEE (Main)-2013 only through Online form. There will be no offline (i.e. physical copy) application form.
The JEE (Main) 2013 Online Form would be available only from 1st November 2012 onwards in this JEE (Main)-2013 Official website. Check this website for the latest info on JEE (Main) 2013. I am also updating this blog post as and when any notification comes up.
