Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Recruitment Notification 2012 has just come out for 132 Head Constable (Ministerial) vacancies. As per the notification, last date of receipt of completed application form is 15th November, 2012.

But first let us know about SSB in brief.

What is Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB):

SSB is a major Paramilitary border forces of India, created post Indo-China conflict, in 1963, mainly to prevent further Chinese intrusions in North East India. However, later its scope was expanded and it now is working in many other states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir etc. besides the eight North East states.

It has following organization roles:

1.0 To promote sense of security among the people living in the border area.

2.0 To Prevent trans border crimes and unauthorized entries into or exit from the territory of India.

SSB Head Constable Vacancy 2012:

Category-wise vacancy position for head constables in SSB is as below:
GEN: 56, SC:17, ST:09, OBC: 31, EXSM:19, Total: 132

Salaries for SSB Head Constable:

Pay Scale offered for these SSB Head Constable (Ministerial) position is: Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/- per month, along with other allowances as exists for Central Government employees.

Eligibilities for SSB Head Constable positions:

Age Eligibility: 18 to 25 years (as on 15/11/2012).
Age relaxations exists as per Govt rule.

Educational Qualification/ Work Experience Eligibility:

1) Class-XII pass (Senior Secondary School Certificate or Intermediate) OR Matriculation from a recognized board with 3-years Diploma in Secretarial Practice or Modern Office Practice or Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education.

2) Typing speed on computer as below:

For General & OBC: Minimum 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi.
For SC & ST: Minimum 25 words per minute in English or 20 words per minute in Hindi.

3) Possess basic knowledge in Computer application.

Besides above eligibilities, candidates must posses the minimum Physical & Medical Standards as given in Page-3&4 of the notification.

Selection process/Exam Pattern of for SSB Head Constable Exam:

Selections for head constable positions in SSB is an elaborate process, involving following stages:

I) Documentation
II) Physical Standard Test ( PST)
III) Physical Efficiency Test ( PET)
IV) Written Examination
V) Typing Speed Test
VI) Test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application
VII) Final Medical Examination
VIII) Review Medical Examination

All other test excepting Written Exam is of qualifying in nature. The final merit list is based on Written Exam mark only. Written exam consists of 100 marks from four test sections: Hindi/English, GK, Arithmetic & Clerical aptitude. SSB Head Constable Exam 2012 Form & how to apply:

You can find the application form for applying to SSB Head Constable Recruitment 2012 Exam from page-8 (ANNEXURE – I ) of the notification. How to apply for SSB Head Constable Exam is given clearly in page-6 to 8 (section 10. How to apply:) of the notification.

Subsequent to filling up the form, you have to send the same along with other required documents to the following address to reach before the last date of application i.e. 15th November, 2012 (For remote areas: 22nd November, 2012):
