Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has recently issued recruitment notification 2013 for Junior Engineers (JE). You need to be unmarried and posses BE/B. tech/B. Sc (Marine Engineering) qualification to apply for this SCI JE job vacancies. As per the notification, last date for receipt of completed application from is 15th Feb, 2012.

What is SCI:
Shipping Corporation of India is a premier Navratna PSU and is the largest shipping company in India. SCI was established on 2nd October, 1961 by the amalgamation of Eastern Shipping Corporation and Western Shipping Corporation. Two more shipping companies, Jayanti Shipping Company and Mogul Lines Limited, were merged with SCI in 1973 and 1986 respectively.
SCI had a humble beginning with only 19 ships but now it has grown into a conglomerate with 80+ ships with interests in 10 different segments of the shipping trade. It owns and operates around one-third of the Indian tonnage. SCI performance has been rated excellent for a record 18 times.

Eligibility for SCI JE Recruitment 2013:
Age Eligibility: (as on 01.04.2013)
Max 28 years. DOB on or after 02.04.1985.
Five year age relaxation for SC/ST candidate & Two years for women candidates.
Educational Qualification Eligibility:
Four year degree (BE/B.Tech./B. Sc. in Marine Engineering) from Directorate General of Shipping (DG), and AICTE Approved Engineering college.
On top of above eligibilities, you need to be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000 applicable to sea farers. Defective colour vision (colour blindness) NOT accepted.
Selection Process for SCI JE Recruitment 2013
Selection would be based on personnel interview to be held at SCI Head Office at Mumbai.
SCI JE Recruitment 2013 Form:
Offline Application form is given in the last page (Page-5) of the notification.
The application fee is Rs.1000/- for General & OBC candidate’s and Nil for SC & ST.

Interview Questions for SCI JE Recruitment:
Since selection would be based on personnel interview alone, you should prepare for Interview only. So brush up your engineering knowledge.
