NITAT 2013 is scheduled be held on 17th February,2013 and this blog post is being made to help you prepare for this exam with prep materials for NITAT - sample papers and prep books along with a discussion on NITAT exam pattern. This article sequels my previous blog post titled: NITAT 2013 Notification, Form & Eligibility which not only tells you what is NITAT and how to apply for it, but also enlightens you why you should appear in the same.
In the very beginning let me tell you that prep material available on the net for NITAT is scarce and the content of this article has been sourced from various websites, including that of NIIT itself.
NITAT exam Pattern
NITAT tests your Aptitude for an IT career and does not tests your existing IT skills - as per its notification, it is not a must for you to have even computer knowledge to appear in NITAT. It is therefore an out and out an APTITUDE test.
Exam Pattern of NITAT therefore revolves your aptitude in two areas:
1.0 Functional abilities.
2.0 Behaviourial traits.
1.0 Functional abilities:
NITAT test paper on Functional abilities has following sections:
Section 1 - Verbal Ability
Section 2 - Numerical Ability
Section 3 - Logical Reasoning
Section 4 - Problem Solving.
All the above sections are part of usual "General Aptitude" tests as held in competitive exams like Bank PO etc.
2.0 Behaviourial traits:
NITAT test paper on Behaviourial traits has following sections:
Section 5 - Team Work
Section 6 - Result Orientation.
Result Orientation tests your ability to handle pressures of targets & deadlines and Team work tests your team-spirit - the ability to work in a collective effort to achieve the goal of the group.
NITAT Sample Paper/Previous years Paper:
Next to knowing the NITAT exam pattern you would naturally would like to know what type of questions are asked in NITAT: i.e. the Sample Paper/Previous years Paper.
The best way to know the type of questions asked in NITAT is to take the NITAT Mini-Test,launched by NIIIT to give you the feeling of NITAT question paper. NITAT Mini-Test is actually a NITAT mock test. You can click here to appear in Mini-NITAT, which is a Facebook application.
You can also download NITAT mock test paper by entering this NITAT Facebook page. On this page, click on "Mini Mock Test" and than click "DOWNLOAD THE SAMPLE MINI-NITAT TEST PAPER", as in the screenshot given above.

There are two other NIIT documents that you can go through for some more example of NITAT question types section-wise:
1.0 NITAT 2012 Bulletin: This is the bulletin for 8th NITAT, held in 2012. Besides others, what you may find useful is the the discussion on what abilities are checked in NITAT as given in page-7 of this document. In addition, you can get NITAT sample questions in page 8/9.
2.0 NIIT Imperia PAT sample paper: Although NIIT Imperia is for management programs, you can find these illustrative questions useful.
