A number of PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) organisations conducts written recruitment exam from time to time for selection of Diploma Trainees. For example: BHEL, NTPC, ONGC, IOCL etc. The candidates appearing in these exams are in most time at a loss to find what can be the pattern of questions asked in these exams. Therefore this article is being posted to give them some sample questions asked in Diploma Trainee Exam, so that it can become the starting point for their further preparation.
The sample questions posted below has been taken from the official guidelines of BHEL Diploma Trainee Exam. The disciplines for which the questions have been posted are: Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ & Electronics Engineering. As said, these questions are representative, to be used as a starting point for your further preparation. First the Diploma Trainee Exam Pattern:
What is the pattern of of written exam for Diploma Trainees? Examples of following two major PSU would help you understand about it:
NTPC Diploma Trainee exam consists of two parts:
Part-I: Professional Knowledge Test: 70 questions, specific to the Engineering Discipline.
Part-II: Aptitude Test: 50 questions, common to all. Sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English usage.
These 120 questions has to be answered in 2-hours.
BHEL Diploma Trainee exam consists of two parts again:
Part-I: Professional Knowledge Test: specific to the Engineering Discipline.
Part-II: Aptitude Test: Common to all disciplines. Sections: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Logical thinking, English usage, General Awareness.
There are a total of 150 questions that has to be answered in 2-hours.
Thus, as you can see above the pattern of exam for selection of Diploma Trainees in the PSU organisations are similar, if not identical. Hence, if you prepare test section-wise for the exam, you can appear in any Diploma Trainee exam.
